The Digital Sending features of the product send scanned documents to a fax number. Products equipped with internal fax modems can be configured to process incoming faxes.
The Fax Settings page allows the configuration of the Send to Fax features for the product. Some features may not be available depending on the method used to send faxes.
Click Fax Settings to make the Send to Fax feature available.
In the Send Faxes... drop-down list, select how the faxes will be sent.
Select the Directly from the product's internal modem option to send faxes directly from the product. This option will be available only if the product is equipped with an internal fax modem. The following information must also be configured
Select your Country.
Enter your Company Name.
Enter the Phone Number to which the product's internal modem is connected.
Check the Enable Dialing Prefix checkbox and enter your Dialing Prefix if a prefix number is required by your phone system.
Click the Advanced... button to configure the advanced features of the product's internal fax modem.
Select the LAN Fax Service option to send faxes through a LAN fax server. The following settings must be configured:
Select the Third Party LAN Fax Product and File Format.
Select the folder location under Folder is Located on.
Enter a Common Folder Path (UNC). This is the path of the folder on the LAN fax server.
Enter a Windows Domain. This is the domain on which the LAN fax server is configured.
Enter a Username. This is the username used to access the LAN fax server.
Enter a Password. This is the field to enter the password corresponding to the username.
Click the Test Folder Access button to verify the access to the folder configured on LAN fax server.
Select the Error Correction Mode to turn ON/OFF the Error Correction Mode.
Select the LAN Fax Transmission Speed.
Select Cover Page to turn ON/OFF the Cover page.
Configure the fax notification options:
Select the Condition on which to notify.
Select the Method used to deliver notification. Select the Print option to print the Notification Report at the product. Select the Email Sender option to email the Notification Report to the product user. The email option requires authentication to be enabled on the product. Select the Include Thumbnail Image checkbox to have a scaled down image of the scanned document included on the Notification Report.
Select the Language of the Notification Report.
Note: Even if the Condition on which to notify is set to Never, the Language of the Notification Report should still be selected because the product user may be able to override this selection and have a Notification Report generated.
Select the quality of the outgoing fax by choosing a value from the Resolution drop-down list. This setting can not be changed by the product user.
Optionally, and if supported by the fax method, configure the Billing Code options:
Provide the Default Billing Code.
If the Billing Code can be entered or changed by the product user, check the Editable by user checkbox. Enter the minimum number of characters the user must enter for a valid Billing Code (a value between 1 and 16). The maximum characters the user can enter is set at 16.
