J52 System Firmware (BIOS) Family - Revision History |
WARNING: After installing this BIOS version onto the system, prior BIOS versions cannot be installed onto the system.
This release improves security of UEFI code and variables and includes mitigation for the following vulnerabilities.
HP strongly recommends promptly transitioning to these updated BIOS versions which supersede all previous releases.

· Fixed an issue that would cause a blue screen failure from an NMI Parity Error with certain DIMMs.
· Fixed an issue which caused a black screen failure when using a discrete graphics card with certain Linux releases.
· Fixed an issue where certain processors could not perform a crisis recovery.
· Fixed an issue that prevented booting from some SanDisk USB 3 flash devices.
· Fixed an issue that could cause some BIOS configuration change requests to fail when using Windows Management Interface (WMI) or HP BiosConfigUtility.
· Fixed an issue with HP Performance Advisor where a system without a discrete graphics card would report the graphics card fan as "stalled" rather than "not present."
· Disabled Capsule 2.0 feature to address issue where system would not boot when using this unsupported functionality.

· Fixed the WMI issue where USB Rear and Side Port could not disabled using the BIOSCONFIGUtility tool

· Fixed OS ‘Loader LoadImage Start' in ACPI FPDT table which must be 0 on a non-UEFI-installed OS
· Fixed SMBIOS Type 17 did not report memory speed correctly
· Fixed the DIMM slot mapping in BIOS Setup which did not coincide with Motherboard slot
· Fixed the setup issue Factory Recovery Boot Support which was not Enabled by default
· Fixed the WMI issue where TPM availability could not be changed with the BIOSConfigUtility tool
· Fixed the WMI issue where USB port group availability could not be changed with the BIOSConfigUtility tool
· Fixed the password prompt in F10 which did not match the output produced by the BIOSCONFIGUtility tool
· Fixed the issue with OA3 Injection SLIC-WKS
· Fixed SMBIOS Type 2 which did not report the base board ID in the correct format
· Set the minimal SINIT version to be 0x40
· Added 680M GPS power management feature
· Added Graphics hotplug EDID override component
· Updated UEFI driver v5.3.09 for the network controller
