TITLE: HP Compaq Business Desktop System BIOS (J01 BIOS)

DESCRIPTION:
This package contains utilities that are used to restore or update the system
BIOS on the supported desktop models with a J01 BIOS.

Several methods for changing the BIOS version may be chosen. Included in this
package are the following methods:

- Use the DOS utility with a preboot execution environment (PXE) management
application to locally update or restore the system BIOS.
- Use HPQFlash to upgrade the BIOS directly in a Microsoft Windows XP,
Microsoft Windows Vista, or Microsoft Windows 7 environment.

SPECIAL NOTE: When updating to this BIOS version from a BIOS prior to v2.09,
you must Apply Defaults or clear CMOS for the USB hard drive placeholder in the
F9-Boot Menu to properly initialize.

To Apply Defaults:
1. Hit the ESC key as the system is first booting to enter Startup Menu
2. Select "Computer Setup (F10)" or hit the F10 key.
3. Highlight and select the option "Apply Defaults and Exit" under the File
menu in the Setup utility.

FIXES:
- Fixes an issue introduced in the v2.14 BIOS where the system would beep and
continue to boot if there was a BIOS error during boot-up. The fix restores the
expected pause with an "F1: Boot" prompt so that the error message can be
seen.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the file by clicking the "Download" or "Obtain Software" button and
saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where
the downloaded file is saved).

2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Known Issues:
- When booting to DOS with a USB mouse installed, a mouse driver needs to be
loaded or else mouse activity could cause the keyboard to stop responding. For
example Microsoft's mouse driver (mouse.com) or the open source CuteMouse
driver (ctmouse.exe) would avoid the issue.
