AMT 2.5 UUID Reset Firmware Update |
VERSION: |
1.00 |
DESCRIPTION: |
This package provides an AMT 2.5 firmware update for the supported notebook models and operating systems. This package updates the AMT 2.5 firmware to version 2.5.8.1102, which fixes an issue with the UUID. It is needed for users who are trying to provision in Enterprise Mode. NOTE: This ME firmware update only works on notebooks that have not been provisioned yet (if the notebook is already provisioned, it must be un-provisioned before applying this firmware update). NOTE: After updating the firmware, the MEBx on the notebook where the firmware update was applied is reset to its default values. Consequently, the notebook must be provisioned again. |

HOW TO USE: |
NOTE: The firmware update only works on notebooks that have not been provisioned yet (if the notebook is already provisioned, it must be un-provisioned before applying this firmware update). After updating the firmware, the MEBx on the notebook where the firmware update was applied is reset to its default values. Consequently, the notebook must be provisioned again. 1. Ensure that the notebook is running on AC power. 2. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 3. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the SoftPaq files. 4. Copy all of the unpacked SoftPaq files to a bootable DOS device, for example: a USB key, a diskette (floppy), and so forth. 5. Boot to the bootable DOS device from Step 4. 6. Execute the UPDATE.BAT file. The Intel Firmware update is applied (this may take a few minutes, so do not shut down the notebook). Once complete, the notebook reboots automatically. The new firmware update, 2.5.8.1102, has now been installed, and the UUID issue has been corrected. 5. At this point, the USB provisioning will need to be run again to re-provision the notebook.
