For information on HP's support of Mac OS X, go to:

and select the Mac OS X link.
HP recommends installing the
latest Mac OS updates from Apple. For
the latest Mac OS X news from Apple, click on the "@" icon in the
dock (the dockling titled "Apple - Mac OS
X").
HP is constantly updating and
improving our printer software. For the
best performance from your HP inkjet printer, you should check to ensure that
you are using the latest software release.
When adding an AppleTalk or
TCP/IP printer in Print Setup Utility (or Print Center on Mac OS X versions
prior to 10.3), displaying the list of printers may take several seconds to
complete.
Printer Sharing -- The driver
on both the client and server computers should be the same version. Use of
different driver versions may result in unexpected print outputs and/or
applications quitting.
On Mac OS X versions prior to
10.3:
- Automatic two sided
printing may not work properly on documents with an odd number of pages for
some printers
- The print dialog's
"Preview" function will not reflect many print settings, including
layout, borders, print quality, page size and color
selections.
- Printer status information
may be intermittent at times. All users should make sure that the printer is
properly connected and ready for printing before starting a print job.
Mac OS X does not
automatically select the printer specific Page Setup settings for the selected
printer. You may need to go to page setup for each document and select your
printer. This will ensure correct margins on the print jobs from your HP Inkjet
printer.
For faster printing, try
turning off Digital Photography in the printer driver settings.
The following list describes
some special situations that you should be aware of when working with specific
applications. (There may be other problems with these applications or with
other applications not mentioned in this document.) If you have problems, contact the publisher
of the application. In some cases a newer, more compatible version of the
software may be available.
The print dialog's
"Preview" feature does not function.
On Mac OS X 10.2.x, printing
from Appleworks templates gives incorrect page
margins.
To print in landscape orientation
use the Inspector/Document menu item and not the page setup dialog.
These applications will
attempt to scale images and text to fit your page size. If the accuracy of the printed image size is
important, use another application.
Printing page ranges does not
work correctly. This is a defect in the application. For printing page ranges,
use Adobe Reader.
