The Special Pages enables user to add, modify, or delete cover pages, insert, or exception pages.
This property provides you to print a cover page using a specific paper option from a specific paper source which you selected. If you configure the options to make printing on two-sided, the first 2 pages or the last 2 pages of document will be used as a front or back cover.
▪ Front Cover prints the document with a front cover. The front cover can be a blank paper or the first page in the document.
▪ Back Cover prints the document with a back cover. The back cover can be a blank paper or the last page in the document.
▪ Front and Back Cover prints the document with a front cover and a back cover. The covers can be blank papers or the first and the last pages in the document.
▪ Blank or Preprinted uses blank or pre-printed document covers. The covers are collated and processed with the print job but no text is printed on them.
▪ 1-Sided Printed The covers for the document are processed and printed as part of the job : only first page is printed on first paper.
▪ 2-Sided Printed The covers for the document are processed and printed as part of the job : the first two pages are printed on fisrt paper.
User could insert paper into the general print job before the first page of the document or after a special page.
For example, you may want to insert a blank piece of colored paper after each section in a document or each chapter in a book. Once you know the page numbers on which each section or chapter ends, you can designate an insert page to be placed after each of those pages.
▪ Before Page 1 : Inserts the paper before page 1.
▪ After Page(s) : Insert the paper after the specified pages.
Specify the location (page) to place the inserts. Separate individual pages or pages ranges with commas. For example, to add inserts after pages 1, 6, 9, 10.
User could specify the characteristics of any pages in the print job that differ from the settings to use for the majority of the print job.
For example, your print job may contain 30 pages that print on standard-sized paper and two pages that must print on a different size of paper. Use this option indicate these two exception pages and select the alternate paper size to use.
Page(s) : Specify the location (page or range of pages) to place the inserts. Separate individual pages or pages ranges with commas. Specify ranges with a dash. For example, to add inserts after pages 1, 6, 9, 10, and 11, type: 1, 6, 9-11.
Select this menu item, and then select type of paper or source to use for the exception pages.
Select whether to print the exception pages on one side or two sides.
▪ None prints the exception pages on one side only.
▪ Long Edge prints the exception pages on both sides of the sheet of paper with the images printed so the job can be bound along the long edge of the sheet.
▪ Short Edge prints the exception pages on both sides of the sheet of paper with the images printed so the job can be bound along the short edge of the sheet.
