Operator Messages Manual

Chapter 97 SNAX‑CRE Messages

The messages in this chapter are sent by the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem. The subsystem ID displayed by these messages includes SNAX‑CRE as the subsystem name.

NOTE: Negative-numbered messages are common to most subsystems. If you receive a negative-numbered message that is not described in this chapter, see Chapter 15.

1

crename: Connection to subdev lost due to file system error ferr from procedure procname, file filename filerole: explanation

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem that reported the error.

subdev

is the name of the subdevice associated with the connection failure.

ferr

is the file‑system error code. See Appendix B, for a brief description of the error code.

procname

identifies a procedure referred to in the error.

filename

is the name of the file associated with the file‑system error.

filerole

identifies the role played by the file associated with the file‑system error.

explanation

explains the file‑system error that led to the lost connection.

Cause  A connection to a subdevice was lost due to a file‑system error.

Effect  The connection is marked as being in the error state; it is retried periodically. No further event is produced until the connection succeeds or the subdevice is deleted.

Recovery  Verify that the access method manager process is operational.

2

crename: Connection to subdev cannot be established due to file system error ferr from procedure procname, file filename filerole: explanation

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem that reported the error.

subdev

is the name of the subdevice associated with the failed connection.

ferr

is the file‑system error code. See Appendix B, for a brief description of the error code.

procname

identifies a procedure referred to in the error.

filename

is the name of the file associated with the file‑system error.

filerole

identifies the role played by the file associated with the file‑system error.

explanation

explains the file‑system error that prevented the connection from being established.

Cause  A connection to a subdevice could not be established.

Effect  The connection is marked as being in the error state and is retried periodically. No further event occurs until the connection succeeds or the subdevice is deleted.

Recovery  The following are possible actions you can take to correct this problem:

  1. Check that the name of the subdevice matches the name of the APPL object defined (to the access method manager process) for SNAX Creator‑2.

  2. Check that the access method manager process is operational.

  3. Check that the password (defined to SNAX Creator‑2) for the subdevice matches the password (defined to the access method) for the SNAX Creator‑2 APPL object.

3

crename: Connection to subdev restored

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem that sent the message.

subdev

is the name of the subdevice associated with the connection.

Cause  A connection to a subdevice was restored.

Effect  None

Recovery  Informational message only; no corrective action is needed.

4

crename: Connection to subdev established

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem that sent the message.

subdev

is the name of the subdevice associated with the connection.

Cause  A connection to a subdevice was established.

Effect  None

Recovery  Informational message only; no corrective action is needed.

5

crename: Connection to subdev deleted

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem that sent the message.

subdev

is the name of the subdevice associated with the connection.

Cause  A connection to a subdevice was terminated by operator request.

Effect  The subdevice connection is terminated.

Recovery  Informational message only; no corrective action is needed.

6

crename: Connection to subdev abandoned during evaluation of the badattr attribute: explanation

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator‑2 subsystem that reported the error.

subdev

is the name of the subdevice associated with the failed connection.

badattr

is the attribute whose evaluation was in error.

explanation

explains the reason that the attribute could not be evaluated.

Cause  A connection to a subdevice could not be initiated because of an error in the configuration definition of the subdevice.

Effect  No further attempt is made to establish this connection until the operator changes the definition of the subdevice.

Recovery  Use the INFO command to examine the attributes of the subdevice and make any necessary corrections.

7

crename: Activation of application applname [ (program program) ] on behalf of requester reqname on openname failed because explanation

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator-2 subsystem that reported the error.

applname

is the name of the application that failed to be activated.

program

is the name of the Pathway subsystem PROGRAM object that was invoked when the Pathway application was launched.

reqname

is the name of the requester. For SNAX/XF and SNAX/APN, this is the file name of the requesting LU.

openname

is the name of the terminal that opened the session.

explanation

explains the reason that an application failed to be started.

Cause  An attempt to start an application failed.

Effect  The request is rejected. A diagnostic message is displayed on the requesting terminal screen.

Recovery  Recovery depends on the explanation for the failure.

8

crename:Run started at starttime, ended at endtime on openname requester:reqname service:svcname appl:applname { PATHWAY:pathmon:pathmon program:program termname:pwyterm } { TACL:process:taclname } { SERVER:server:servname }

crename

is the name of the SNAX Creator-2 subsystem that reported the error.

starttime

is the time at which the session was initiated.

endtime

is the time at which the session was terminated.
