Operator Messages Manual

Chapter 78 PATHWAY Messages

The subsystem ID displayed by these messages includes PATHWAY as the subsystem name. Some operator messages include a nested message. The nested message is another operator message that is also described in this chapter. For example:

*1047* TERM T, STOPPED:
*3052* TERM term-name, TERMINAL STOPPED BY PROGRAM

“*3052* TERM term-name, TERMINAL STOPPED BY PROGRAM” is the nested message.

If you receive an operator message that has a nested message, see the description of the nested message for cause, effect, and recovery information.

NOTE: Negative-numbered messages are common to most subsystems. If you receive a negative-numbered message that is not described in this chapter, see Chapter 15.

All messages in this chapter pertain to the Pathway transaction processing environment and are issued by components of the following products:

  • HP NonStop™ Pathway/iTS (formerly called Pathway/TS)

  • HP NonStop™ Transaction Services/MP (NonStop TS/MP)

  • HP NonStop™ Pathway/XM

Message numbers identify the process that reported the error, as follows:

Message Numbers in This Range…Are Reported by…
1000 through 1999NonStop TS/MP PATHMON processes
1500 through 1999PDMCOM process
2000 through 2999PDMCOM process

6000 through 6199Pathway/XM link control service (LCS) processes
6200 through 6399Pathway/XM process broker (PB) processes
6500 through 6799Pathway/XM PXMCOM processes

Cause  The TCP rejected an unsolicited message for the reason indicated by the error number. (This error number is also shown in the INFO field of the STATUS TERM display.) This message can be generated on behalf of either an individual requester or the entire TCP.

The meaning of the error number is as follows:

errnum ValueDescription
0No error.
1A file-system error occurred.
2Terminal is suspended.
3Terminal queue is full. (The TERM MAXINPUTMSGS configuration value has been exceeded.)
4TCP queue area is full.
5Queueing is not enabled. (The TCP MAXINPUTMSGS configuration value is set to 0.)
6Length field in the message exceeds the configured maximum for the TCP.
7Unrecognizable request code (refers to MSG-ID and MSG-VERSION fields).
8Terminal is not found.
9MAXINPUTMSGS value has been exceeded.
10RECEIVE UNSOLICITED MESSAGE error occurred. INFO1 provides the reason, which is the value obtained from the TERMINATION-STATUS register.
11The number of bytes in the reply message sent by the SCREEN COBOL requester exceeded the number of bytes supported by the sender of the unsolicited message. This is a warning and should occur only during the application-debugging phase.

Effect  The TCP rejects the unsolicited message and replies to the sender without delivering it to the target requester.

Recovery  Recovery depends on the type of error that occurred. For information about unsolicited message errors, refer to the Pathway/iTS TCP and Terminal Programming Guide.

3245

*3245* TCP tcp-name, SEND: Licensing violation on external SEND

tcp-name

the name of the terminal control process (TCP) that is the subject of this message.

Cause  The TCP attempted to issue a SCREEN COBOL SEND operation to an external TCP on an Expand node for which the Pathway/iTS product is not licensed.

Effect  The SEND operation fails.

Recovery  The Pathway/iTS product must be licensed for an Expand node before applications can perform SEND operations to external TCPs on that node. If you believe you have secured a license for the Pathway/iTS product on the target node, perform the following:

  1. Confirm that the Pathway/iTS licensing file, ZLICSA59, is located in the $SYSTEM.ZPATHWAY subvolume.

  2. Confirm that all files located in $SYSTEM.ZPATHWAY are secured NxNx, where x is any valid Guardian security setting.

If the appropriate licensing file is present and properly secured on an Expand node, your application should be able to successfully perform SEND operations to external TCPs on that node.
