Operator Messages Manual
Chapter 48 KRN (Kernel Subsystem Manager) Messages
The messages in this chapter are generated by the Kernel Subsystem
Manager subsystem. The subsystem ID displayed by these messages includes
KRN as the subsystem name. | | | | | NOTE: Negative-numbered messages are common to most subsystems. If
you receive a negative-numbered message that is not described in this
chapter, see Chapter 15. | | | | |
1 System configuration mismatch detected | Cause The system was loaded with a system configuration database containing
mismatch values compared to the information stored in the device processor. Effect The system uses the values stored in the service processor. Recovery Use a Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) command to correct the
content of the system configuration and/or the service processor.
If needed, reload the system. |
2 System power down has initiated. | Cause An operator requested a system power down. Effect The system performs system shutdown and then powers itself off. Recovery This is an informational message only; no corrective action
is needed. |
3 System failed to backout name reservation records. | Cause The KRN detected a process name being used while it is reserving
process names. This caused KRN to remove previously reserved process
name. Effect The system configuration database is inconsistent. Recovery See the SCF Reference Manual for the Kernel Subsystem for recovery. |
4 NO ALLPROCESSORS record found in system configuration
database, default ALLPROCESSORS record added | Cause Because no ALLPROCESSORS record was found in the system configuration
database, a default ALLPROCESSORS record was added. The error occurs
when the system is loaded from CONFBASE. Effect None. Recovery If you want to change the default value, use the ALTER SUBSYSTEM
($ZZKRN) command. For more information, see the SCF Reference
Manual for the Kernel Subsystem. |
7 No KRN_SUBSYS record found in system configuration
database, default KRN_SUBSYS record added. | Cause A default KRN_SUBSYS record was added to the system configuration
database because no KRN_SUBSYS record was found in the system configuration
database. This message occurs when the system is loaded from CONFBASE. Effect None. Recovery This is an informational message only; no corrective action
is needed. If you want to change the default values, use the SCF ALTER
SUBSYS command (for more information about this command, see the SCF
Reference Manual for the Kernel Subsystem). |
8 Size of DCT altered to SMALL (32766) in system
configuration. The new DCT Size takes effect immediately. | Cause You used the SCF ALTER SUBSYS command to change the size of
the DCT to SMALL (32,766 entries). Effect None. Recovery This is an informational message only; no corrective action
is needed. |
9 Size of DCT altered to MEDIUM (65375) in system
configuration. The new DCT Size takes effect immediately. | Cause You used the SCF ALTER SUBSYS command to change the size of
the DCT to MEDIUM (65,375 entries). Effect None. Recovery This is an informational message only; no corrective action
is needed. |
11 No Krn_Subsys2 record found in system configuration
database, default Krn_Subsys2 record added. | Cause A timer granularity record was added to the configuration database. Effect None. Recovery This is an informational message only; no corrective action
is needed. |
12 Timer Granularity value is altered from TIMER_GRANULARITY option to TIMER_GRANULARITY
option. | where TIMER_GRANULARITY option | is one of FORCE_ORDINARY, DEFAULT_ORDINARY, DEFAULT_FINE,
or FORCE_FINE options. |
Cause A timer granularity record was altered in the system and the
configuration database. Effect None. Recovery This is an informational message only; no corrective action
is needed. |
