The messages in this chapter are sent by the EM3270 subsystem.
The subsystem ID displayed by these messages includes EM3270 as the
subsystem name.
NOTE: Negative-numbered messages are common to most subsystems. If
you receive a negative-numbered message that is not described in this
chapter, see Chapter 15.
CauseThis message indicates an incorrect configuration or a programming
error in the offending application.
EffectAn out-of-range buffer address is detected in a data stream
from an IBM or Fujitsu host or from the Pathway/TS terminal control
process (TCP) in 3270 mode.
RecoveryIf the problem persists, take an EM3270 trace of the data stream
in error.
CauseThis message indicates that a multiple-byte character set (MBCS)
error has been detected.
EffectThere is a logic error in the MBCS handling of EM3270.
RecoveryContact your Tandem service provider and provide all relevant
information as follows:

Details from the message or messages generated
Supporting documentation such as Event Management
Service (EMS) logs, trace files, and a processor dump, if applicable
If your local operating procedures require contacting the Global

process-name: Buffers
not available to start task # task
CauseDuring the startup of a new terminal task, buffer space is not
available due to configuration of dynamic system resource problems.
EffectThe task is not started.
RecoveryCheck the DATAPAGES process parameter and adjust as necessary.
If DATAPAGES is set to 0, indicating dynamic allocation, check the
available free space on the disk used for this purpose.
