Known Issues ************************************************* Please refer to the hp LaserJet 9065 MFP printer Software Technical Reference manual located under "Manuals" at www.hp.com/go/lj9065 MFP_software for updated listing of known issues for the hp LaserJet Printing System Software. *********************************** III. DEFECTS FIX LIST *********************************** * Windows® Server 2003 --- when the user browses the network to the Novell® server and tries to install the PCL 6 or PS printer driver to an already existing printer queue using NDS® or Bindery with the properties/have disk feature the following error message occurs: "Warning - Could not set up the printer. Return code = -20" This can also be seen with the PCL 6 driver in Windows® NT 4.0 * With some Java(TM) applications, the administrator's username was showing up in Stored Jobs rather than the current username. * Documents containing both landscape and portrait letter pages may not staple correctly. Background: When printing an original using the PCL 6 driver that requests 2 Top oriented staples contains both landscape and portrait oriented letter pages, the device may prompt for Letter-R paper if it is not loaded (correct behavior). However, once the Letter-R paper has been loaded the device will print the first portrait oriented pages and then the following message will be displayed on the Control panel "Series of Originals differ, Please Release Staple Mode if Continuously Printing on Legal, Letter-R & 5.5x8.5 Size". If a tray with letter is then selected the job will eject without stapling. * In Windows® Server 2003 the words "Postscript Passthrough" may not be localized correctly within in the PScript drivers Print Properties >Device Settings Tab >Installable Options section. * In Windows® ME the Spanish PScript driver may have three lines of text that are not localized. These are found under the Printer Features>Device Options tab. The values are “Rotate Page 180 deg, Job Storage, and User.” * Some jobs may not finish if the default bin on the device is set to the "Upper Bin". In this case the driver setting will not override the control panel settings. This behavior has been changed and the driver settings will now override the control panel settings for the output destination. * When using the PCL 6 driver some digital images may not be scaled properly when using 2-UP or booklet printing. * Documents may not punch correctly when using the N-UP feature and the PScript driver. An example of this would be selecting either 2-UP or 6-UP and Punch Left. The output will be punched on the right side of the document. * In Windows® 98 some text relating to job storage and watermarks may not be localized in the Dutch PScript driver. * In Windows® 2000 the Swedish PCL 6 driver has incorrect localization on the following tabs: The Advanced Tab > Advanced Printing Features Menu selection is not localized correctly. The Paper/Quality tab > Source is: selections are not localized correctly * When selecting the .ppd file in PageMaker® 7.0 you may receive the following syntax error: "Error: file HPC9065S.PPD, line 1178" or file HPC9065S.PPD, line 1178". *********************************** IV. ENHANCEMENTS *********************************** 1) Driver constraints have been added to address unsupported finishing features. Background: Unsupported selections were allowed for punching, stapling etc with the previous LJ9065 MFP driver versions. This would allowed the end-user to make selections and configurations for finishing that were not supported. When these selections were made output would not be finished as the end-user expected. When this happened the end-user became concerned that the mfp was was not working correctly. 2) The driver now provides the end-user the with ability to use the Job Storage features without overwriting documents from applications that use a default name for files that are not named by that user. An example of this is the "Memo Style" Print style used by Microsoft Outlook®. Background: How the new behavior works: When you store a print job, you can create a name for the print job or the mfp software (driver) can assign one automatically. If the "Use Job Name + (1-99)" is selected, the printer will check to see if the print job name is unique for the selected UserName. If a print job that has the same file name is already stored on the printer, the mfp software (driver) assigns a number between 1 and 99 to the end of the new file name to make it unique. If you select "Replace Existing File", and a print job that has the same file name is already stored on the mfp, the mfp software (driver) overwrites the existing print job and replaces it with the new print job. ************************************ V.
