UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ************************************ NOTE: Please be aware that an update in some circumstance may require approximately ten minutes to complete. UPGRADING THE NEW FIRMWARE TO A SINGLE DEVICE ------------------------------------------------- You can send an .RFU update to a device at any time; the device will wait for all I/O channels to become idle before cycling power. NOTE: If the firmware update involves a change in the format of NVRAM, the NVRAM settings will be lost and must be set again by the customer. The elapsed time for an update depends on the I/O transfer time as well as the time that it takes for the printer to reinitialize. The I/O transfer time will depend on a number of things including the speed of the host computer sending the update and the I/O method (parallel, or network). The re-initialization time will depend on the specific hardware configuration of the printer, such as the number of EIO devices installed, the presence of external paper handling devices, and the amount of memory installed. Finally, any print jobs ahead of the .RFU job in the queue will be printed before the .RFU update is processed. NOTE: The device will automatically restart after processing the update. This internal clock has the hierarchy over time provided by a timeserver and therefore the timeserver functionality provided on these screens may not work as expected. To help eliminate confusion seen when trying to use the timeserver as the devices time source, the "Advanced" button has been removed from the Time and date feature. * The Danish translation for "Toner Out" is "Kassetten er tom" and can be confusing. This has been changed to a more accurate statement. * Incorrect characters may be printed when using UTF-8 characters. * Some PostScript® files containing watermarks may print slowly. * Attachments sent by the EWS alert functionality may be displayed in a text format showing HTML coding along with desired information. * Certain PostScript® files may leave out the 'A' in the acute angstrom character, only printing the acute symbol. * Certain HP-GL/2 files may print the characters "W", "M" and "N" incorrectly when compared to the other characters on the page. * A 49.0E00 error or 49.4CO2 error may be displayed on the touch screen control panel when printing PDF files. * Printing a PostScript® file with embedded MS Arial Unicode TTF may cause the device to display a 49.4C02 error on the touch screen control panel. =========================================================================== Current firmware revisions included in this firmware bundle (Version 07.001.A ) =========================================================================== DEVICE FIRMWARE REVISION =========================================================================== HP LaserJet 9055MFP Series Printers: 07.001.0 (Datecode: 20040322 07.001.0) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- *************************************************************************** *********************************** IV.
