This file contains late breaking information regarding the use and functionality of your Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 3200 product. For more information please visit the Hewlett-Packard Web site at http://www.hp.com/support/lj3200. *Custom button error on reboot If the Custom Button was added during a custom install, an error is displayed during re-boot. This occurs because the Custom Button cannot be configured properly until after the system has been re-booted. Selecting the Custom Button and proceeding through the Custom Button Wizard resolves this issue. *The installer fails to install the PCL6 print driver when both PCL5 and PCL6 are selected during a custom install If, during a custom install, both the pcl5e and pcl6 drivers are selected, only the pcl5e driver is installed. This happens because the operating system can only install one driver during a Plug and Play event. Since it finds the PCL5e driver first this is the one that is installed. It will never install the PCL6 driver if the PCL5 driver is also selected. In order to install the PCL6 driver, it must be the only one selected. The custom install procedure can be repeated with only the PCL6 driver selected. Or, an "Add Printer" operation can be performed to manually install the PCL6 driver. *Twain scanning does not work with some applications. This problem occurs with Twain applications that attempt to setup image transfer using the File mode. The HP LaserJet 3200 does not support File mode for Twain image transfer. It uses only the Native and Memory modes. Applications are supposed to query the device to find out which modes are supported before attempting to set up a transfer. However, not all applications do this. If an application assumes that File mode is supported then selecting "Acquire Image" will have no effect. No Twain dialog is displayed and no scan takes place. Images can be scanned using another Twain application (Windows 95), or the desktop software supplied with the LaserJet 3200. The resulting image can then be imported as a file, placed from the clipboard, or as an OLE link to the application. *The LaserJet 3200 does not accept commands or data from the computer after the unexpected termination of a scan or copy. If a scan or copy is unexpectedly terminated, the following files may not get shutdown properly. They will have to be shutdown manually before proper operation can resume. hppadt40.exe hppapml0.exe hppavdx0.exe The easiest way to resolve the problem is to re-boot the system. Alternatively, these files can be manually shut down using the Task Manager. Once they are shut down the software will resume proper operation. *HP T65 OfficeJet and the HP LaserJet 3200 Software cannot co-exist The HP LaserJet 3200 and OfficeJet T65 products use very similiar software that cannot coexist in the same system at the same time. The OfficeJet T65 product must be uninstalled before LaserJet 3200 software can be installed. *Unable to Select the PCL 5 driver during the installation During the normal "Express" installation there is no option to select the PCL5 print driver. The default selection is the PCL6 print driver. The PCL5 driver can be installed during Custom installation or using the Windows Add Printer function. *There is no option to set fax blocking in the configuration utility. This function can only be done from the LaserJet 3200 front control panel. *Document is printed on paper even if the fax driver is selected. After opening a file in word and then selecting the fax driver this error message is recieved: Microsoft Word: There is insufficient memory Save the document now. If "OK" is selected the error is cleared but the fax is printed instead of being sent over the phone line. * Windows 98 with a USB connection - Director doesn't appear when scanner is loaded. On a small number of Windows 98 systems with a USB connection, communications problems can occur when the system is first rebooted after software installation. If the Director doesn't appear when paper is inserted into the scanner, then it needs to be re-started. This can be done most easily by rebooting the system again. Alternatively, it can be closed by right-clicking it's taskbar icon and selecting "close" from the menu. Then re-start it by running "HP LaserJet Director" from the "Start>Programs>LaserJet 3200" system menu.
