Maximum number of IDs were increased to resolve issue. *********************************** III. ENHANCEMENTS *********************************** -- Update-Now button for "Add Printer" installs: 9x,ME,NT4,2K,XP (not available with the PostScript drivers in 9x,ME,NT4.0) If the configuration of the HP Color LaserJet 9500 printer changes after installation, the driver can be automatically updated with the new configuration in environments that support bidirectional communication. For example, if the HP Color LaserJet 9500hdn is installed and an optional paper-handling accessory is added later, you can automatically configure the accessory in the driver by clicking the Update Now button on the driver's Configuration tab. The Update Now button activates the HP Network Registry Agent (HPNRA) and triggers the driver to recheck the registry for new information. The HPNRA automatically updates the registry and changes the configuration information that appears on the Configuration tab in the Printer folder. This feature has been available in the past only when a full install on the driver was performed. -- Job Storage options on separate tab: 9x,ME,NT4 The Traditional drivers will have the Job Storage Feature on it own Tab within the driver providing better ease of use. -- Include Types within applications: 9x,ME,NT4 Applications that allow you to select paper trays from within there Page Setup option will now have the option to select paper "Type" as well as "Size". -- Alternate Letterhead: 9x,ME,NT4 // PCL5 and PCL6 When printing on letterhead or preprinted paper, users must position the paper in opposing orientations for simplex and duplex. For example, to print simplex on letterhead in tray 2, the user must orient the letterhead face-down. For duplex, the user must orient the letterhead face-up. For the manual tray this is the opposite, it is face-up for simplex and face-down for duplex. To allow the user to position the paper for simplex in the same orientation as duplex printing, the Traditional driver code has been modified to detect paper type of letterhead or preprinted and change the page attribute from simplex to duplex and insert a blank page after the printed page. This will effectively duplex all simplex jobs. The driver has a User Interface checkbox to enable this feature, which will be off by default. -- Unique job name when storing a job: 9x,ME,NT4 When printing using the Job Storage features, certain application might not send down a "Unique Job Name" causing multiple jobs to have the same name which will erase the previous Stored Job. The traditional Drivers will now add a number after each job name preventing previous jobs from being erased. --PostScript Passthrough: 2k,XP // PostScript PostScript Passthrough is enabled by default, and must be enabled for most print jobs. This option provides additional capabilities for some software programs when printing to a PostScript driver. Options such as watermarks, n-up printing, and booklet printing might not print correctly from some software programs when PostScript Passthrough is enabled because such programs send PostScript information to the printer that does not get controlled by the driver. Other applications may print using these options without problems. If you encounter problems while printing, select Disabled and print your document again. In some cases, disabling PostScript Passthrough might cause unexpected behavior in the software program. --Print Text as Black: 2k,XP Allows all text characters to be printed as black regardless of the application or documents color settings for text. ************************************ IV.
