NOTE: Each OS supports a different set of base languages. The default language of English will always be installed and used if a specific language is not supported. Refer to the LaserJet user guide for the specific set of languages that hp supports with a product.


The hp LaserJet Installer provides hp LaserJet printing support for the Mac OS 9.x and X 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 operating systems.

How to download and install 


Below are easy-to-follow instructions for downloading and installing your Mac printing solution. 


Before proceeding with the software installation, the printer must first be properly set up, and your computer must be ready to print. 
Turn on the printer first, then the computer.
Close any screen savers, virus protection programs or other software programs that are running on your computer. 
Download the file to your hard drive. 
Expand the file by finding the directory where the file was saved. Double click on the file. 
To install the files, double click on the Installation program. Printer support files will be installed into their appropriate locations.   


For Mac 9.2, open the Chooser and select the icon for the Color LaserJet 1500 (for USB direct connect) or the icon for the Color LaserJet 1500 AT (for network connection). Highlight the printer name in the right-hand box of the Choose. Close the Chooser and a desktop Icon for the Color LaserJet 1500 will appear.

For Mac OS X open the Print Center (Hard-Drive/applications/utilities/print center). Click on ADD and in the secondary window select USB (for USB direct connect) or AppleTalk (for network connection) in the top bar. Highlight the printer name listed in the box below. Click on add and the printer will then show up in your print center.
