NOTE: These Release Notes are applicable at the date of the ProCurve Manager Version 2.0 -Update 1 Release (B.02.005). Please check the ProCurve Support Web site for more recent information, or for information on purchase and installation of PCM 2.0 and PCM+ 2.0 software.

You must have installed PCM 2.0 or PCM+ 2.0 before you can install this update.

Installation Notes – PCM 2.0 Updates

You can install this PCM 2.0 update using the Automatic Update feature in PCM 2.0, or you can install it manually.

Using the PCM Automatic Update to Install

1. Open the preferences panel in the PCM Client and select the “Automatic Updates” node.
2. Click the “Check Now” button.
   A dialog appears with a list of the available update(s).
3. Select the update, ensure that the “install” checkbox is enabled and click the “Next” button.
4. A warning message appears, advising you that any PCM clients will be disconnected. Click "OK" to continue.
5. After the update package is downloaded, you will be prompted to close the PCM Client. Click "Ok" to close the pop-up, then close the Preferences window and exit PCM
6. The update will be applied and the PCM services restarted. Once this is done the customer can reconnect with their client and enjoy their now updated version of PCM.

Using the Manual Process to Install

1. Stop the PCM services using the MS Windows Services window, available from the Control Panel.
2. Open the "pcm_2_0_update_1.zip" file and extract the contents of this file to the PNM\server* directory.
   When prompted, select (Yes) to overwrite any existing files or folders with the files being extracted.
3. Restart the PCM services.

To verify if the Update has already been installed, look in the Update History window under the PCM Global Preferences
[Tools->Preferences->Automatic Updates->Update History]

* The default PCM server installation directory is: C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\PNM\server on the workstation where PCM 2.0 was initially installed.

Software Fixes

Problems resolved in Update 1 include:

• CLI (PR 1000242950) - CLI ssh support is not enabled for 93xx, and 420 wireless devices using switch software version 2.047
  
  
• Config Manager (PR 1000246502, PR 1000280355 ) - Problem scanning the configuration on a 420 wireless device using switch software version 2.1.0.
  
  
• Config Manager (PR 1000280788) - Unable to deploy configuration for 7000 series devices successfully.
  
  
• Config Manager (PR 1000283279) - “Preferred Version” selection being disregarded.
  
  
• Device Manager (PR 1000244135) - Incorrect result in Test Communication Parameters executed in Policy Manager.
  
  
• Device Manager (PR 1000243101) - CLI setting disabled for 1600, 24xx and 8000 series switches.
  
  
• Device Manager (PR 1000243895) - When adding more than 10 trap receivers on 7203dl, "Unreachable" message is displayed.
  
  
• Device Manager (PR 1000244292) - Communications Parameters in Device tool shows incorrect management community.
  
  
• Discovery (PR 1000284080) - VLAN discovery reporting incorrect port assignments.
  
  
• Discovery (PR 1000282445) - PCM incorrectly categorizing 720 devices.
  
  
• FirmwareUpdate (PR 1000279492) - Failing to unzip dependent images from zip package on download.
  
  
• Polling (PR 1000285382) - Excluded devices continue to be status polled by PCM.
  
  
• Proxy Settings (PR 1000280071) - Socks server setting causes all telnet sessions to fail.
  
  
• SNMP (PR 1000281297) - PCM uses incorrect snmp version for 420 wireless devices using switch software versions prior to 2.1.0.
  
  
• VLAN Manager (PR 1000246504) - Port Assignment result dialog displays incorrect error.
